This program is part of our cultural exploration series, Our World, Our Stories, where children learn about humanity, community traditions, and diverse ways of life through real-world experiences. In this chapter, children step into Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Lagong to understand the unique lifestyle of the indigenous community and their deep connection with the forest.
Children will meet the villagers, listen to their stories, and explore how they survive and thrive using natural resources. They will learn traditional forest skills such as identifying edible plants, basic jungle survival techniques, fire-making demonstrations, simple hunting methods (e.g., blowpipe or traps demonstrations), and traditional crafts. Through guided experiences, children will see how the Orang Asli live sustainably, protect nature, and pass down their knowledge from one generation to the next.
This program aims to cultivate respect, empathy, and appreciation for Malaysia’s indigenous heritage. Through real interaction and storytelling, children will gain a deeper understanding of culture, survival, and the importance of living in harmony with the natural world.
